Security and Emergency Preparedness Planning Workshop for the Bus Industry

Facilitated by: Daecher Consulting Group, Inc.
Presented by: Department of Homeland Security, American Bus Association, United Motorcoach Association

How secure are your operations? Are you prepared for what is no longer an unthinkable terrorist attack upon your operations? Are you prepared for other emergencies such as fires, earthquakes, etc.? You can no longer afford not to be prepared.

You can no longer afford to be naive: to think that it cannot happen to your operations or in your town. No matter where you go, no matter what you do, the possibility of being affected by a terrorist act is real.

Your best preparation and defense is to have a well conceived security and emergency preparedness plan which includes:

  • Employee preparation and training
  • Facility security
  • Vehicle security
  • Cyber security
  • Emergency/Crisis Response Procedures
  • Business Recovery Plans

A plan which describes what you will do and how you will get it done must be based upon a reasonable assessment of threats and vulnerabilities to your operations and facilities. A self-assessment of your entire operation and a determination of potential threats and vulnerabilities and their likelihoods will be the foundation for a security and emergency preparedness plan. If you don’t have one now you cannot afford to wait any longer.

Through a grant from the Department of Homeland Security to the American Bus Association and the United Motorcoach Association, a workshop on preparing your security and emergency preparedness plan will be presented by Daecher Consulting Group, Inc. throughout the country. Many of these workshops will be sponsored by and linked with major motorcoach events.

We urge owners, safety managers, and other appropriate management personnel to attend these workshops. With attendance you will receive all necessary materials and information to prepare your Security and Emergency Preparedness Plan and will receive training materials for all your employees. There is no cost for attendance, but registration is necessary.

Please see the workshop schedule below for dates and locations of these workshops. Also attached as a separate document to this announcement is a registration form for you and others form your company to complete and return to the email address/fax number at the bottom of the form.

This could be the most valuable information you have received in recent times. Do not miss attending one of the workshops.
