FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 12, 2019 — The United Motorcoach Association is pleased to announce that after an exhaustive search we have chosen UBT (United Bus Technology) as the official technology partner for BusRates.com.
BusRates.com has long stood alone in the industry as a non-broker lead generation tool for charter bus operators in North America and has been owned by UMA since 2004.
“We are proud of the history of BusRates.com under the leadership of UMA” said Stacy Tetschner, President and CEO of UMA. “We have worked hard to keep it true to its mission of providing high quality quote requests from real consumers to operators in good standing. We are proud that, together with UMA, BusRates has helped keep these valuable leads out of the hands of brokers. We also realize that with the changing times online and changing technologies that we needed a partner who was, at their very core, a technology company. We are excited that we found that with UBT.”
United Bus Technology is a technology company based in Virginia that has its roots in the bus industry. “We believe that our most unique competitive advantage in our market is that we are totally and completely focused on the motorcoach industry,” said Christian Riddell, President of United Bus Technology. “We have a unique company where the needs of North American bus operators are the only priorities we work on every day. We are thrilled to be working with the UMA to help bring BusRates into the future. We strongly believe that its brightest days are ahead of it for the industry and that it will become the place for all things bus online for consumers going forward.”
UBT has hired Roxana Melgar as the new General Manager of BusRates.com. “We are thrilled to have Roxana on the team” Riddell added. “She has over 4 years experience at BusRates and understands the product very well. She has been involved through many of the technology transitions and is familiar with every aspect of the business. She knows the customers and is excited to be helping us move this work forward.”
Of her transition to UBT, Roxana said, “I was always very passionate about my work at BusRates. I am thrilled to be able to come back to this project and to bring my experience to the team. I am very excited about the future and to help UBT and UMA work together to make BusRates better than it ever has been before.”
